SmartLipo

SmartLipo is a new, advanced form of traditional liposuction. This less invasive procedure normally has less recovery time and bruising than traditional liposuction. SmartLipo can offer tighter, more enhanced skin. While this is not an overall weight loss alternative, healthy eating habits and exercise are still recommended to maintain results.

Procedure Details

Starting with a local anesthetic for small areas, or general anesthesia for large or multiple areas, a small incision is made into the targeted area. A small cannula, or specialized hollow tube, is inserted under the skin through the incision and laser energy is delivered to the fat cells, causing them to liquefy. The liquefied fat is then gently suctioned out of the body. Small blood vessels are located in this layer of skin which the laser coagulates (clots), leading to less bruising. The laser is also used to apply heat to the skin increasing collagen and elastin production, leaving a more contoured, tightened appearance. The use of the laser ensures a clean, nearly painless procedure, with minimal scarring, and usually takes less than an hour for each targeted area.

SmartLipo can be performed in parts of the body that have extra fat such as the thighs, knees, buttocks, hips, abdomens, neck, breast, upper arms, and even the face.

Recovery

This procedure is designed to be minimally invasive and the entire procedure generally takes less than a few hours, being able to return home the same day. Without long recovery times, most patients can return to work and normal activities within a few days. Minimal bruising and swelling may occur, but symptoms should subside shortly. Results may be seen directly after surgery, but best results will be visible a few months after.

Faq

  • Am I a good candidate?

Ideal candidates have realistic expectations for procedure, are in good medical health, can commit to proper recovery time, and have excess fat pockets on the thighs, lower back, flanks, hips, neck, knees, arms, abdomen, calves, and/or ankles.

  • What are the best spots to have laser liposuction done?

Thighs, lower back, flanks, hips, neck, knees, arms, abdomen, calves, and ankles.

  • What is the difference between traditional liposuction and smartlipo?

Traditional liposuction allows fatty tissue that is removed to be purified and reintroduced into beneficial locations (fat transfer), but will not address loose or saggy skin concerns, while smartlipo is associated with faster recovery time, tightening of the skin, and is less invasive.

  • How much does the procedure(s) cost?

Pricing varies based on body and skin types along with combined procedures performed. Please call or schedule a consultation for more information.
